If you are coming to Mexico City, you probably want to try some of the best tacos in the world. It's genuinely hard to find a bad taco in Mexico City, every vendor takes pride in their delicacies.

The ones I found that stood out among the rest were those that had a few different meat options, and a ton of fresh salsas and toppings available.

Los Provolones is my favorite taco gem in Centro.

Make sure to bring cash.

After you stuff yourself, head over to Spiritu Santo (check their hours beforehand) and go early evening before it gets busy) to try a local drink, pulque.

Pulque is an ancient, slightly alcoholic Mexican beverage made from the fermented sap of the maguey (agave) plant, known for its milky color, viscous texture, and sour, yeast-like flavor. It's incredibly delicious and has many health properties.

It can be served natural but it is often served mixed "curado" with other natural fruit flavours to make it sweeter. Spiritu Santo is the best place to try it because not only is the tastiest, the place is a throwback to pop culture and often plays nostalgic Hollywood movies in Spanish and classic/alt rock.

And they make a great tlayuda, a Oaxacan staple often called a Mexican pizza. They come in different meat and veggie options, and crickets if you're brave enough to try.

It is a short walk from Alameda Central and Palacio De Bellas Artes.
