Audiorama is a quiet and music-focused space tucked among trees and greenery where speakers play curated ambient sounds and music throughout the day, creating a peaceful, sensory experience within the park.

Originally developed in the early 1970s as a kind of outdoor reading and relaxation refuge, the Audiorama features benches set in a garden-like clearing with sound discreetly delivered through speakers in the trees. It’s designed to be a calm stop for listening, reading, or simply resting, distinct from the busier paths and attractions in the park.

Visitors often observe that talking is discouraged to help maintain the tranquil atmosphere, and the music genres vary by day of the week — from classical and jazz to world and chill-out music — adding to the unique ambient experience.

Audiorama has a prehispanic cave on the site called Cincalco, which was historically considered a sacred cavern thought to lead to the underworld Mictlán. It has a rich history if you want to look it up. However, for safety reasons the cave itself is sealed off and not accessible to visitors today.

 

In the audiorama, there is a mini public library there to borrow a book. So take a seat, chill, and take it all in.
