Mercado de Mixhuca is a
stone's throw away from Mercado de Jamaica and can be a good stop if you are with a guide.
It is a live pet market that sells all kinds of pets and supplies. While there are abundant photo opportunities, you will see the market is a harsh reminder of the reality of unregulated pet markets.

Mercado de Mixiuhca
Photography Notes
This is an animal focused market where they sell supplies and animals, the aisles are narrow and crammed with storefronts.
Using a wide angle lens can be helpful, and if you are trying to capture a candid shot, it will be in close quarters. The portrait I took above was taken after I was pretending to browse something.
Otherwise, I wouldn't consider this place a photogenic spot.
